Two Renewable Energy Projects Receive USDA Grants

The Rural Energy Assistance Program (REAP) of the US Department of Energy has awarded an $80,000 grant to the Greater Portland Council of Governments, to develop wind projects both on- and offshore. Kennebec Valley Community College will receive a $100,000 grant to provide four energy audits as well as renewable energy development assistance for 140 agricultural producers and rural small businesses across the state.
